Clayson House Wedding!
A wedding is going on at the Clayson House! The groom is seated as is the Victorian custom. The wedding dress is from the late 1890’s with a very wide cumberbund at the waist and 3/4 length sleeves. The bride’s veil is netting with a headpiece of wax orange buds also typical of the period. The bridesmaid has a pink silk brocade dress a couple of years earlier than the wedding dress with full short sleeves and a lace collar. The flower girl’s dress is all white lace with a ribbon belt to match the bridesmaid’s dress. The ring bearer has a white satin suit. The two pieces button together; the suit is from the early 1900’s. — Connie Rawa
